CODELCO
In the 2007 investment period, Cochilco and Mideplan recommended 234 Codelco projects worth US$4,128 million, of which US$1,705 million were to be invested in the period.
For the 2008 investment period, Cochilco and Mideplan have recommended 208 Codelco projects worth US$3,678 million, of which US$1,281 million are to be invested in 2008. Leading projects include construction of the new Gaby mine and Phase I of the Andina Development Plan.
ENAMI
Some 12 projects, including US$6.5 million to be invested in 2008, have been recommended. Chief among these is expansion from 400 to 800 TPM of the Salado Plant SX-EW cathode facility. This project alone accounts for 83 percent of recommended investment amounts for 2008.
