Produce studies, research and reports designed to contribute to the formulation, implementation and oversight of policies assisting in the sustainable development of the mining sector and in consolidating its contribution to the country as a whole.

Provide public, timely, reliable statistics, information and analysis furthering market transparence and facilitating informed decision-making by both public and private sector players.

Represent the interests of the Chilean government before domestic and international agencies and forums of relevance to the sustainable development of Chilean mining.

Safeguard government interests in publicly-owned mining companies by conducting audits and assessments, reviewing operations and investments, and reporting on same to senior company management. In addition, advise the Ministries of Mines and Finance on mining company budget development and review.
